Jay Davis, MD Biography (pdf) Philosophy (pdf)	Jay B. Davis, MD Medical Director Dr. Davis grew up in Houston, attended public school here, and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in zoology. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, choosing a combined emergency medicine/internal medicine residency program at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Davis became particularly interested in internal medicine during his internship year and elected to pursue that specialty as a resident. He was asked to stay on for a fourth year to serve as chief resident of the internal medicine program, responsible for recruiting, managing, and teaching more than one hundred internal medicine interns and residents. On completion of his training, Dr. Davis returned to Houston where he practiced at Diagnostic Clinic of Houston for five years. He then joined a smaller group practice in which he was able to be more involved in the care of his patients. Dr. Davis and Dr. Clearman collaborated in the care of several patients during his seven year tenure with the small group practice. Interested in dealing with his patients at a more personal and attentive level, Dr. Davis joined Personal Physician Group LLP in July 2009, offering our patients general internal medicine care and preventive care and diagnostics. Dr. Davis is American Board of Internal Medicine Certified and is a member of several professional associations. He is chief of staff at University General Hospital and is on the staff of The Methodist Hospital. He lectures at Texas Woman’s University and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
